You are quite correct Mr. Rock.
The guy who's selling this fake has fortunately for us just had to slap that decal on it to try and gain extra revenue. Without it being such a big give away I think the artificial wear to the outer shell at least is very convincing and would be more likely to fool somebody. Cheers, Sean.

The camo is far from convincing to me. Not the expected wear and the artificial aging is evident.

The liner is very easily recognized as one that is aged. The decal looks really bad, its a terrible fake.
How so? The dried and twisted nature of the tongues and the cracks/fissures to the leather look OK to me. What is it that gives the game away so easily to your eyes?by WillC
Ive seen alot of helmets here that have had a very similar liner in looks and shape, and they have been dismissed as artificially aged.
Im with you Glenn. Im not sure what makes it so obviously aged? Leather possibly treated, but how can you tell its aged?
