Re: SS Helmet Opinions
For a relic / barn fouind this is a very nice one both inside and out !!
If found at Demjansk it will be either TK Divsion or Freikorps Danmark who also fought in the pocket !

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.

We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Re: SS Helmet Opinions
The area it was found in was where the Totenkopf division's group Simon fought. The village was named something like "Kirolischniwa" I am spelling it phonetically and I am sure I am butchering the name. There were about 10 occupied houses and maybe 4 or 5 abandoned buildings dilapidated almost to the ground. I have photos from the area if I can get some time I will post them.

Re: SS Helmet Opinions
The village is likely gone now, but I have an old German military map of the pocket somewhere that I will post for you if I can find it. It may be marked on there, in which case you could compare it to a modern map and plot the position. I had a helmet from the same rough area near to Eicke group, now residing in Dan's safe hands in Australia. btw Dan if you ever sell that one I want first refusal on it mate
