SS M42 german helmet decal fake or real?

hey i am looking to get this SS M42 german helmet and am wondering if the decals are fake or authentic. also what it would be worth. it was supposable dug up buy the guys friend in 1998 in austria. these are the only pictures i have sorry!

Do I see TWO decals ? It is an M42, and should not have two decals IMO,
but I wouldn't think the helmet is not worth too much anyway - even
with battle damage - maybe $50 to $80.

If this is being passed off as an SS lid I'd forget it, because it will be
too much $$$, and condition is very poor.........

I'm with Steve on this one Jamie, i too have seen this 4 sale, I'd save your bucks for something else, DD M42 i dont think so.

ok thank you guys! and out of the years of collecting iv just recently started collecting german helmets so there mutch for me to learn. i just know some of the basic knolwage of what to look fo but not much. i am just trying to find and buy a nice lookin ground dug battle damaged helmet to add to my collection. it has one of those been there done that looks to me which i realy admire for some reasion, ill keep serchin to finde the right one. this is the 2nd add u gusy saved me on thanx agen!

No worries Jamie, but remember it's your money and if you like the look of something and it doesn't matter about authenticity then go ahead it only should matter to you if you like it or not, but i'm sure no one wants to see you or someone else taken in by something that is not quite what it seems
