Re: Ss m42 sd
hi , not that well up on helmets . but the liner is looks more like the norweigen post war liners to me than a period example . the decal seems to be aged out of context to the helmets wear. i could be wrong ,but i would avoid this one myself. ss helmets are one of the most faked items around it seems . stug

Re: Ss m42 sd
The decal seems to have been rubbed to make it look aged, but the wear
does not match the rest of the helmet. Liner looks to have been
treated with something - as well as having that Norwegian
red tinge as Stug suggests.
The chinstrap is a repro.........

Re: Ss m42 sd
Not for me either. Decal is modern and has been aged, chinstrap is a repo and liner looks like a post war Norwegian dyed variant. I wouldn't go much further with it

Re: Ss m42 sd
Looks like the fake NS decal, personalization appears postwar written over rust, liner is not from this helmet and is postwar, strap is reproduction.

Re: Ss m42 sd
In other words Im afraid its been well faked and not to convincingly

Re: Ss m42 sd
maybe a silly question from me? I've owned ET (never a ckl) NS, Q, SE
& FS+EF makers in the past but I've never seen or heard of hkp. Is this a maker I do not know about? or is it hkp for head size?

Re: Ss m42 sd
No hkp is a maker of helmets as well. I have a beautiful M40 Luft made by them. The airvents are their typical style
