Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

does anyone know what mite have caused the wear naturally?
Hi Andrew, I have edited your thread and placed the pics direct in it rather than having links to your album. Makes life a bit easier than clicking on the links.
Cheers, Ade.
Going back now the appearance of the decal. I don't see this as "natural wear" as such. Different decals sometimes wear in slightly different ways. But I think that this one may have suffered somewhat due to the way the helmet has been preserved or cleaned.
The book "SS Steel" by Kelly Hicks is the best book on the market on SS helmets and well worth buying.
But this decal is so worn it is very hard to attribute a maker to the decal.
Cheers, Ade.
hi
i emailed espenlaub this morning asking about it
maybe dimas will post some information on it later
Is I've handled this helmet in my collection before I got better one, I can say that this helmet a true one, just a cleaned example from a surface rusting ( with oxalic acid) and a leather part of the liner was changed by me, due of original liner is gone due of time, but it's original- not perfect in condition, but for sure original. That kind of things is very hard to understand without having them in the hand-inspection
