    hi, i cant seem to get a better photo of the decal than the 5th picture shown.
    You are the second person to be supicious of this helmet
    i paid alot of money for it?

    Going back now the appearance of the decal. I don't see this as "natural wear" as such. Different decals sometimes wear in slightly different ways. But I think that this one may have suffered somewhat due to the way the helmet has been preserved or cleaned.

    The book "SS Steel" by Kelly Hicks is the best book on the market on SS helmets and well worth buying.

    But this decal is so worn it is very hard to attribute a maker to the decal.

    Is I've handled this helmet in my collection before I got better one, I can say that this helmet a true one, just a cleaned example from a surface rusting ( with oxalic acid) and a leather part of the liner was changed by me, due of original liner is gone due of time, but it's original- not perfect in condition, but for sure original. That kind of things is very hard to understand without having them in the hand-inspection
