Hi, quite possibly a good ET decal but it is to far gone for my liking. It looks like the "breaks" are soft and the base of the shield is pointed, but nearly all of it's value has been removed even if it is the remains of an original decal. Leon.
Not a decal guy, try as I might so will defer to others.
But...what is odd to me is the condition of the helmet (wonderful) and the heavily scrubbed nature of the decal. I could be wrong but this is a strong yellow flag for me and one that needs many opinions.

Iagree with Micheal.
Don't disagree. Just pointing out the discrepancy which ties in well with a defaced or scrubbed decal as well.

I can only agree with the negative points raised by other members. I have never seen a genuine helmet of any branch that shows artificial aging like seen on this piece.

IMO the helmet could be cleaned from postwar paint, that would explain the appearance of the decal.
Even if real in its current condition it is not very collectible and you have to consider the difficulty that you would have in the future when/if the time came when you wanted or had to sell it. I would pass o this one and put my money towards a more collectible piece in better/untouched condition. Just my 2 cents, Jim G.
