Those of the Allgemeine SS are tombak-like, neusilber, buntmetall or cupal as a rule. Of course, the grey cap (seen here) was worn by all branches of the SS.

    Or the badge was on an Allgemeine SS cap of later make, but, in the main, the black caps have the buntmetall badges.

    Your aluminium eagle was made by the firm Augustin Hicke and is quite a rare bird.
