Its great that people like yourself reply to posts, If no one replied it would be a worthless forum, so I always like to show my appreciation .
One of these days I myself may be able to teach someone. At the moment I still feel thick lol.
Just to push my luck a little further , I suppose and read that there are many variants, is there any chance we can give this skull a rough timeframe or a possible maker.

Hi Rod, no way to assign any maker to it.

These were worn from the formation of the SS and in many cases well well beyond the introduction of the 1936 pattern skull.

Well Mat I had no idea what to offer the guy , I couldn’t really find many for sale on the net for comparison.
And some of the prices I found on these sites were unrealistic , I still don’t really know the true value.
But I will take your word it was a good deal.

Yes they're a lot of those so called "early type skull". I don't even know If I have seen them all, probably not. Here you can see a very rare variant that I've just picked up.
