The real "scull savant" can read the obverse of said items.

I am not one, mind you.

I am no "scull savant" at all.

Beautiful examples, as always. Thanks, FB!

    Very pleasing to see the contrast between e.g. the numbers 3 and 4 ;
the aging of the earlier " 52 " TK perfectly follows that of the earlier " Silbergespinst " cord , and lacquered leather visor .
Compared to the still shiny Vulcan-fiber , Alu cord and final Cupal M1/52 TK - thanks for showing ..

The bulk of what we see here and beyond is junk. I do not enjoy it.

I should think that others share my discomfort.

Thanks. Glad you can use the pictures for your analysis. Here is another, the cap of some Herr Dr. Professor March Violet opportunist and likely racial murderer of early make.

The cap with the less worn badges is more or less of the same epoch as the one with the leather peak, maybe a little later. I think....

I just wanted to ask a quick question , how many manufactures made TK hat insignia ?
With RZM controls there couldn't have been that many .

Here is the more or less working list. I do not associate myself with such lists.

I do respect the man who wrote it, though.

The lists that preceded it were full of flaws.

    ".....Skulls:
    Unmarked - Deschler & Sohn
    GES.GESCH. - Deschler & Sohn
RZM GES GESCH - Deschler & Sohn
    RZM D.&S.M. GES.GESCH. - Deschler & Sohn
    RZM 52 - Deschler & Sohn
    RZM M1/52 - Deschler & Sohn
    RZM 254/42 - Deschler & Sohn
    RZM 499/41 - Fritz Zimmermann
    RZM M1/24 - Overhoff & Cie.
    GES.GESCH. - E. W. Assmann & Söhne
    Unmarked - E. W. Assmann & Söhne
    RZM M1/17 - E. W. Assmann & Söhne
    S.P.40 - Unknown possibly Overhoff & Cie...."

This list is not the result of an official document of the time.
It is the result of empirical observation.

    Please note :

RZM M1/17 for Assmann is correct for cap eagles , but NOT for skulls .

M1/17 skulls originate from the Austrian 1980's series , and are identical to the SS 360/42 marked ones - which indeed mimick the Assmann skull .
