I think the problem is resolved.
In Russia he loose his Headgear,Faith and Spirit (due to: less civilians, innocent childrens-they were replaced by Red Army)
Until his death in crashed airplane (Russian artilllery) he was often seen like on this photo posted below

Somehow, I rather doubt that the murderous thug Eicke went without a hat for the rest of his life. It was part of his Uniform, and in the event of having "lost one", he would simply have picked up another.

Ca 1935-1936 I think, but do not know.

Also, you can date the image from his insignia as those here have noted. I.e. collar patches and the cuff title.

Mr. Saris has taught us about the forms of the cap, i.e. Form I, II, etc. with their respective dates and such.
I do not think that Eicke wears the same cap in the first picture as the second.
This cap was called a SS Oberfuehrermuetze. It came in two versions, one with a black lining and one with a light lining and the runic marks.

The Totenschaedel mit Kinn was introduced in the course of 1933-1935, or not at all. The small 1927-9 Hakenkreuzkokarde was phased out from early 1936 onwards.
