ah well thats not good im struggling to see much difference to be honest. i know zimmerman had two different pin attachments the round type being late war. maybe my eyes aren't cut out for this. any pointers as to what to look for?

Like the guys said, sift through the many threads about these pricey little cap skulls on the Forum here and you'll find Plenty of great original examples to examine in detail. Look them over and note the differences between the various manufacturers and styles and you'll get a good idea of what genuine pieces look like and what fakes-both poorly made and Well made-look like as well! This Forum is better than any reference book you can find-and it's Free!

thats very true. thanks for all your prompt replied. i also have a first war iron cross too so im hoping thats not a dud or today really hasn't been a good one!

if you write zimmerman or rzm skull 499/41 in the forum search bar
find your own scull and magnific examples of authentic zimmerman skulls.
the one shown in the photo is a copy already recognized.
