    My latest Ovehoff skull in CupAl is a salty one. It retains only about 5% of it's finish with all the tarnished copper showing through. I had a choice of this one or one with most of it's finish and I chose this skull for it's character. I like them in various stages of wear. I have four Overhoff's ranging from choice to well worn. Enjoy.

    Regards, Al

    Yes yes yes , I just love this latest addition .. !

    Because here is something you rarely see on Overhoff skulls ;

    through hard wear the Aluminum layer is showing underneath the Copper ( chin , lower left bone ) ,
    but also there are still remains of the very top layer of thin silver paint ( unique for Overhoff , since all other Cupals were silverplated ).

    So 3 layers in all , something you will never in this lifetime see in reproductions .. !

    Thank you Winkelman for pointing this out. The chin in particular always shows the most wear usually revealing the copper, and in this case as you pointed out , down to the bare aluminum. You have a keen eye as always.

    Regards, Al

    Thanks John. And now that Winkleman gave it the "nod" I feel better about having chosen this worn example over a one that had most of it's finish intact.

    Just when I was happy with owning almost all different variations of skull & eagle insignia ( only 1 of each ! ) .

    Meaning I have only 1 lonely Cupal Overhoff TK , and now I see that there are different wear patterns to collect .

    But I will not be envious , no I won't .

    OK , yes I am ..
