Could it be that these early tank crews skulls were used by ss members?
It's a panzer collar , not a traditional badge .
I won't comment on it's originality , but I'm sure someone will .
I read in a book German Insignia of World War II that
"..the first death's heads used by the ss were originally manufactured during word war I for some of the toughest, hardest fighting units of the Kaiser's army. These included storm troopers, early tank crews, and flamethrower troops."
Not used by the SS.

the panzerskull is authentic
We have numerous images of the Danziger style death's head on SS caps of all kinds. Do look for them. I have many in my collection and I share them here,
at no cost to you and high cost to myself.

Your badge borrows from the design used by the SS, but the actual object is, as Adrian notes, N O T an SS badge.
