    Hi Ron, I believe them to be fakes I'm afraid- I'm not an expert on the eagles, but its head doesn't look right to me from the front, and the back presumably shouldn't have those chunky areas on the edges. As I commented on another recent post, it seems to match the totenkopf, which I can more confidently conclude isn't right. The skull's nasal cavity lacks the usual sharper form, which you can see in the examples I've attached. Also, the area between the cavity and the teeth appears to be too distinctively ridged, whereas on Deschler skulls this element is noticeably softer. Lastly, it seems they're made from a different metal to what they should be- the finish and appearance to the top of the skull seems too perfect and shiney.

    Hopefully others can comment, and validate my analysis.

    Glad to help. It is indeed a minefield, I've stepped on a couple before! Fortunately, I learned before it was too late in each case, thanks to the forum.
