Ss cap eagle – advice needed

Could any Forum members give me their opinion as to originality regarding this cap eagle. I have tried looking at other examples on the Forum but having little knowledge I am still none the wiser!

My scanner does strange things with colours – but with some adjustment this is about the best I can get regarding the obverse which has the remains of a silver finish.

The reverse pictures are not as good as I would like. The badge has a powdered grey effect making scanning difficult regarding detail.

On the left hand reverse I can make just make out "RZM" in a circle and the other side "M8". The pins seem to be plated and their finish is much better than that remaining on the badge. The whole item is curved to fit a cap shape.

I am not expecting great things, but would appreciate any advice given.

I think It's an original Wagner but with new prongs on it.
I also have a M/8 messing eagle. the details are not well visible...
can you something about that?

Thank you both for the helpful replies. Either way it is not a positive result.

This badge came into my friends shop seemingly from a house clearance. He offered it to me, but having no knowledge of this type of insignia and aware of the pitfalls I borrowed it to post pics on the Forum hoping for expert opinion before making any decision.

I was looking at it as a trading piece – which in view of the general opinion would not have produced a very successful result from another collector – thank you for helping me avoid a mistake!
