SS Eagle - Is it a fake?

I was recently got this in a box of various aviation items, and don't know if it's genuine. I was wondering if anyone here could help with authenticating it before I sell it (I have no interest in keeping it.)

It appears to be some sort of Nazi-German Eagle insignia. Don't ask me any more about what service / uniform, as I am not really an expert.

Heck, don't be sorry. This is really about deciding it's fate. If it happened to be gen, it was to be sold, and if fake, simply destroyed/disposed of. I have no interest in keeping it.

Thanks for showing the eagle, shame its a dud but the best place for these things is the bin.
