    Telesmanich, German War Booty. I buy mine from him when I must restore a cap with missing badges.

    He is not especially cheap, but then, the results are less irritating than all the other wizards and conjurers....

    Well said. Fata morgana is my favorite phrase in so much of this endeavor.

    These items in these images of mine are anything other than a fata morgana.

    In most cases, however, the average internet image of what proposes to be an SS cap insignia is simply a fake of one kind or another.

    Comparing this to the original posted above I am unsure now. I like the patina and the style of tabs but the mark does not seem crisp enough. Did late war examples had a lighter stamping or is this a fake?Name:  s-l500.jpg
