typical badge as more often found, if at all.....
Hello F-B & Ben, thank you for the info and advice. I know not to buy any one of these without getting many expert opinions from people like yourself, and many others who have been collecting these type items for a long time. In fact, Anything SS is questionable today as you know, and needs to be thoroughly examined for authenticity.
I have seen many of your posts F-B, and you really have some very rare historical items. A very nice retirement account.
Thank you both, & Dimas again. Regards, Steve
Dear Kilroy, I hate to be a kill joy and a total bore, surely. The cap badge thing is a real nightmare. I am looking for some real, loose ones myself, but I cannot justify paying the price of the cap itself. Nor 2000 dollars for a set of such little critters.
I cannot tell a lie: the images in this post are those I have snagged over the years from the firmament. The first grey cap is mine, though, that is true. The rest are not. I collect black SS uniforms and caps.
I have more than one each of the latter, but who knows what this stuff is truly worth.
Whatever it is worth, the beginner must embark on all of this with a maximum of care in order to save one's self from real heartbreak.
Happy Totenschaedel!
What about this one? Coming from Germany was found near Walsrode, Lower Saxony.
I would pass on it. I am concerned this is a cast fake that has be aged? Originally these were die struck. Look just above the pin mountings, on the edge of the badge and note the thickness of the metal there.
Cheers, Ade.
Hi Ade i noticed this and i wondered but i didnt realise they were all die struck thanks for pointing it out this forum really is a help
Jon

This is an amazing pair of mint un-issued Panzer Skulls. The Skulls were worn by the German Heer Panzer units and were worn on the collar tabs. This pair is in mint condition and they appear to have never been issued. These are very difficult to find in this condition and these would look great on some nice Panzer tabs. This item is 100% Authentic and comes with my Lifetime Guarantee and Certificate of Authenticity.

theyre definately thick on the edges and i presumed german helmets.com were very scrupulous on authentic items?
