Re: SS Visor cap Skull

FB, are these skulls for visors only or would they appear on Pz wrap collar tabs?
Thank you,
M
The collar tab insignia of the Panzerwaffe was generally much smaller than the cap badge. However, I am not an expert in German army panzer regalia. There was also a species of Totenschaedel for the traditions badge worn on the shoulder board, as well. See the Assmann catalog for some of the variety of these insignia.
I defer to others with more focused and insightful expertise.

$150 is a bit expensive for this type.
Five or so years ago (when hundreds of them were dug up) they could be found for about $20 each.
Now they sell for about $80.
Maybe in a couple of years, $150 will be a fair price.
The other prussian style skulls are rarer and more expensive.

Re: SS Visor cap Skull
Im sure this is a copy.
The most important thing to recognise SS first or second pattern skull is rear.
The prongs are to to wide and short and made from wrong alloy.
The whole alloy of this skull is bad.
The price depends how much you desire it.
For me its not rigid prices for old things.
The diferent side its a story about hundreds of skulls digit from ground.
This stories are like Christian Andersen stories.
I know many metal detectors operators and previously I was diging to.
To found a skull in ground its almost same like to win in lotto
