The inner disc may be very white and not contrast much with the outer edge , but I do think it is of 3 piece construction .

I only own the earlier variant, but I was not aware that the fakes were this well constructed.
Of course, I do not follow these with much care.
I owned a cap of this type forty years ago.
Another pale reverse vs. a dark one - both are original and of 3 piece construction , as is the button that started this thread .
I rather like it. It would fool me if a fake.
The button loop seems to be solidly attached, and not pass through the back.
I'll try and get another reverse photo tomorrow, thank you all for your replies.
I bow to superior knowledge - I'm so scared of them - having been caught before if it hasn't got 63 on it and 3 piece - I walk - safest way for me.

No superior knowledge on my part. We are only human and, truth be told, this isn’t my center of gravity. I do not think the forgeries have advanced to this level, however, I could always be wrong. My gut tells me otherwise and CBH may have some more details that lead to a definitive answer. Stay tuned.
