Some of you have probably seen this M1/72 499/42 eagle on PvL's site.
I'm happy to tell you that Peter and I have made a deal, so
this little bird will soon have a new home.

Quite common to find in unused condition but very rare in used.
I will post better photos of it when it has arrived.

Here is one in use. One does not often find such things on a cap, of course.

Very nice to see them where they belongs.

Hopefully I will find another visor cap without, or with wrong insignia, in the future so I can put this one back where it belongs too.

None of the SS-visors I've found had their original insignia set left.

In my experience ( since 1966 and for what little it is truly worth) , SS caps often have replacement insignia, especially grey ones.

Dear F-B, I'd listen to your experience regarding these items every time you'd like to share it. It's worth a lot. (To all of us.)
Now, I have to go back to the books!

    Yes, they had.
The real expert in this subject is bwanek1, he might have something to add.

Hi Arek, you know it's 2. It wasn't my intention to make it sound like I have found thousands of them, if anyone believed that.
