Zimmermann skull 499/49

Hello picked this up today attached to a fake hj cap i thought it looked ok but a bit soft on detail but the guy said it was a relic. What does everyone think? I dont usually go for ss item but it was 25 quid so gambled.

and this is what it looks like on a cap (right). That is, this is what a real one in a fine state of preservation looks like on a real cap, itself well saved from the ravages of time and collectors.

Sid will correct me if i am wrong, but it is a cast and should be stamped out. It still have the casting seam.

This is correct, this one is cast (and very badly done) and the originals are die struck.
