EXACTLY. The one you have looks good but I would have to see the back. In the reference books they claim this version was to be used for officers. However, I have seen NCOs and common enlisted men in original photos with this style as well.

Furthermore, I have seen some pics of 13th SS men wearing the BeVo style "Kroatien" or "Hrvatska" version with the name cut off to fit in with the rest of the unit.

Bottom line is that even thought this is cliche, "There is no such thing as uniform!"

There was no distinction between the different shaped shields for enlisted or officers. They were just two different styles created. The more square shield is the tougher to find.
