Allgemeine SS Officer's Visor ap

To follow on from my Waffen SS Visor Cap post I would invite comment on this Allgemeine example.

The cap shows honest wear, the label is quite faded can't read the short word after the DRGM.

Maker label reads: J.B.Holzinger

I am not a specialist about this items, but I really think this is a fake cap. Looks to new in opinion.

I am sorry to say that this is not a genuine black officer's cap. The materials are incorrect and quality and form poor. On another note, this is not an "Allgemeine SS" visor cap. There is a continual misidentification of any part of the black dress uniform. It was worn by the SS-VT, Totenkopfverbande, SD and all branches of the SS. The reverse is true for the gray uniform not being exclusive to the Waffen SS. It was worn as a service uniform by all factions of the SS.

These are blaCK SS officer's caps. After mid 1935 or so, such items were no longer permitted to have a maker's logo, if they were contracted to VA SS and RZM sources, which was generally the case. There are exceptions, especially in caps made earlier than said date, more or less.
