Actualy, I think the eagle is a stinker too.
I have never been fond of the trikot black SS officer vosor hats. I suppose they could have been made by private makers, but I prefer the smooth wool, as usually seen.
Insignia is also not original, on this example.

At the risk of being a stinker, this cap here of mine has a trikot cap cover. The officer caps tend to have a doe skin or melton cap cover, but surely caps with a trikot cover (usually of superior quality to the enlisted variety) exist.

The insignia on Ben's cap are lousy.
Here is another cap (on the right, closest to camera) with a Trikot cover, a Clemens Wagner cap that came from the Barrandov Kostumfundus in Praha. The cap badges have been replaced.
