A cap with extra color to admire.

I found this photo on the German MFF forum and would like to share it here.

I think its a Heer cap converted to SS- Heer pattern chinstrap and what could be a green band. Taken in what year, do you think?

Hard to tell the year but I would opt for pre wartime but it really is a nice image and I would also say that it looks like a green band.
It looks like he has a ribbon for previous service in the Heer as (I think) I can just see the small eagle to the ribbon above his tunic pocket.
