Could these perhaps be SS tabs?
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have recently bought this off the internet via ebay.com.
I dont know how to get the photos off ebay to my computer to put on this forum, so if someone could do that for me, -to save getting this link lost and this thread becoming useless- I would be very grateful. It might take a week or so before they arrive, so we will have to work with these.
I would like to know if these could be SS or not.
Best regards and these might also have a chance of being Nskk aswell.
Patrick M Lewis
*EDIT* I removed the link because Rene added photos.

I know, I was the winning bidder, though I dont know how to get the photos from ebay on to the forum.
The seller didint know what they were, I thought I might take a chance and buy them incase they could be SS.
Best regards,
Patrick

Here ya go
The way you save evilbay pics is you open each photo in a new window, then right click, save page as to your desk top, open up the saved folder and drag out the largest sized pic to desk top. This has to be done with each pic posted on evilbay

Thank you Rene,
Does anyone know what these could be?
Best regards,
Patrick

Re: Could these perhaps be SS tabs?
Hi Patrick, I know we have spoken privately on these, but they are most likely "relic" or possibly unfinished SS collar tabs. Obviously they lack the buckram backing reinforcement. Slight chance they could be NSKK also. But given where they were found most likey SS.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Could these perhaps be SS tabs?
Thank you Adrian for your imput. They were indeed found in Kurland in a german bunker. I dont know how unfinished tabs could be found in a bunker? Perhaps 70 years in the ground has taken the runes and all the loose stuff off the tabs and just left the tabs themselves.
Is there anyway to know for certain?
Best regards,
Patrick Lewis

Well the person I bought them from was from this Gent.

Though on his ebay account where he sold them he discribed them as black tabs rare. I am not sure if he knows himself.
Best regards,
Patrick

Very unlikely Patrick that the runes etc have disappeared as the condition of the tabs themselves is not too bad after 70 years !! Why not ask Andris what he thinks of them and where they were found in Kurland ? A number of Waffen SS units fought in Kurland , the Latvians were there up to the surrender on the 8th May 1945.
