Cuff titles at auction

    Default Cuff titles at auction

    Was browsing some auction sites and came across these cuff titles that some here might be interested in;

    Pictures aren't very clear, so it's hard to authenticate based on them.

    Fakes all to me.I would not touch any of them.
    The Charlemagne title is a good indicator as these were never issued,There may be some evidence to support the fact some may have been produced late in the war but as stated never issued as far as I know..
    If it were good it would be a first IMO.

    Hi Dave-
    In 1965, I had a vet aquired uniform removed Charlemagne title. It is the only known original example in a collection. At the time, it was not known how rare it was and I traded it off. We all make mistakes-especially at that time with so little reference material.

    I have added the pic to your thread, links die so it is important always to preserve the pic for future reference.

    From the pic, I would not bother with them.

    Hi Bob,
    Bugger,I guess at times we all wish for hindsite at certain times.
    Was the example you owned wire or bevo if you don't mind me asking.

    After nearly 50 years, I am not sure. I know where it is and will check. I do not think it was Bevo. In those days, we had rudimary lists of SS cufftitles and it was on the list. No one knew it was so rare at that time.
