Dachau Patches

This is my first post; I hope you enjoy these pictures. A friend's mother was a US Army nurse in WWII. She went to Dachau three days after the liberation of the camp and took these souveniers. She told me there were piles of them laying around.

I would like to see the backs of the collar tabs.

I will try to get a shot of the back of the tabs. I'm not that good with computers. I had to have my friends daughter help me post the photo's. The nurse that gave me these patches still has a stack of each of these. She also has some photos of Dachau I will ask her if I can post them also.

I'd watermark the photos, if they are what she says and so close after liberation they could be valuable in their own right. The daughter will know how to do this, i always ask my 11yr old when i get stuck.

Hi and welcome to the forum! Thanks for posting them.

These "Dachau" found insignia are well known in collecting circles. They were found in bulk at the Dachau camp complex by the liberating GI's. They are always in demand as they are SS. None are "rare" (a much over used word!) as such. These insignias have since been given the name "Dachau patern" by collectors.

Yes agree that these is well known original types of Dachau insignia, I have several of them too.
