Default Delich Treasures. Waffen SS als die Armee Europas.

Here is what my senior mentor has to offer us today, on the theme of the European dimension of the Waffen SS and its relics.

"....First, a couple of pages from a super rare 1945
SS diary, at that time called an SS Taschenkalendar.
My two fold purpose in showing this is the fact
that to my knowledge I have never seen another
copy of such a late diary publication, and secondly,
the first page of this late publication shows a few
proposed designs for volunteer collar patches
that never made it past the drawing board. I have
never seen these several designs appear anywhere
else in a publication. Those who know about
volunteer insignia, especially collar patches, will
    recognize these right away.
Next are a couple of things I cannot swear to,
those being a supposed Latvian Sniper patch. I
have a letter from an alleged vet who sent this photo
to me, along with a photo of an SS Latvian finger
ring. So, claiming ignorance on these pieces,
I would request more knowledge from readers on
the forum to educate ME as to what these might
be, along with their possible originality. It's
possible, I suppose that some Latvian individual
created his own insignia and forged his own ring,
but will have to claim ignorance where the
    originality of these is concerned.
Finally, another piece of insignia that has not so
far made it into the reference books, is the SS cuff
"SS-Kavallerie-Division". Some would claim this to
be a fantasy piece -- if not for the original paperwork
included here, and photos of the man wearing the
actual piece in question. I also have several other
ID booklets and papers from this man...."Delich Treasures. Waffen SS als die Armee Europas.Delich Treasures. Waffen SS als die Armee Europas.Delich Treasures. Thank you F-B for sharing these photos with us and please pass along a hearty thanks to Mr. Delich for sharing his collection.
The insignia of the Latvian Waffen SS includes many non standard examples of display on the uniform and construction that differ from the German examples.

My thanks to FB and Mr. Delich. These examples, along with period photos and paperwork, serve to dispel ideas of certain items being fantasy pieces. A continuing win for all collectors as certain assumptions are replaced with factual evidence. Bravo!

Look at these interesting photos of sleeve shields from Nordcaukasien, and the Aserbaidschan with a sicle. These coloures are not often we see in real life. ( a period print is nice to see as well )
