I think the image is more from 1933, but there are others who know the dates with the badges, shoulder cords et cetera.
Lumsden and someone here had a fight on line, which resulted in the former's departure. Very sad, since he is a decent man, generous with his time and he also writes very well.
It is all the proverbial rolling of the rock up the hill...

and yes, f-b, the former constable is an excellent man. how do we coax him back, pray?
I do not know. The fight to keep all this going on the right plain is pretty arduous.
And, I shall be gone from this space for much of winter on detached service with no access to this appliance, so others will have to shoulder the burden. I will be in a place where posting about this stuff on the internet is not especially wise or healthy.
