If no replies, maybe PM some of the SS Visor and insignia guru's on the forum and ask them to take a look......
Not my area so anything I would say would / could be wrong.
Do you have a close up photo of the impression on the sweat band. Looks like a maker mark. Also, did these visors have vent grommets?

Hat looks good. Cannot comment on the insignia as far as originality.
It probably had the 1st type insignia, which was replaced when the final type came out.
