I posted this tunic earlier with very little response. The insignia is only pinned to the tunic and I was asking if Forum members would restore the tunic with it's earlier applied insigniaor leave the tunic as found.

Personally, I would use period thread and reapply the proper insignias to it.

Wagriff, is there anything about the insignia that raises flags with you?
And that was what I was asking, what is the concensus on restored uniforms ?
If the insignia are period correct for the tunic and original I see no reason not to restore the piece. I think some people get too carried away with this inexorable search for that elusive 'untouched' garment that they lose sight of what is really important. i.e the item itself.
Exactly-as Glenn said. As for the insignias, you would have to unpin them, of course, and post front and back photos of each piece to make sure that no sinkers have slipped through the nets, so to speak. The sleeve eagle, shoulder boards and the 2 collar tabs.

Thanks Glenn66, to me this is a significant tunic, but without any history or provinence
