Well here's another piece of SS insignia , it has slightly different leaf shapes to other ones I've seen but I'll leave it to you to decide .

It looks ok to me, a nice SS cap Edelweiss for the M43.

Thanks for the reply Nick , I was worried about the leaves on the stem , they are thinner then most of the examples I've seen . And SS is such a mine field , I think I'd only trust something if I took it out of the attic or basement myself .
