An amazing garment captured in Hallein / Salzburg / Austria belonging probably to an officer of the Div. Nord.

Look in the Beaver book for its story.

I meant where exactly it was picked up- there are several villages around Salzburg (mentioned in the Beaver book) for example Hallein, where the SS Geb Jag Ausb Ers Btl 6 was stationed-which would make sense since this tunic is a Gebirgsjäger (green pipng) tunic.
    So, any deeper informations?

Anyone of you also has information about who bought this tunic?

Do write to Bill Shea and ask him. He sold the object.

I spent part of my work abroad summer of 1973 in Hallein, in fact, and know it quite well. The rest I spent in Vienna, in the Pfeilgasse. Click image for larger version.

Spent some time there too - and equally so, would like to feel I know it quite well. Would be nice to hear from some of the Members here who actually live in Hallein - they might do more justice in answering your question. The castle nearby is impressive - spent much time there . . . but of course, that would be another village nearby, I suppose. Click image for larger version.

Until more WRF members do appear that live in Hallien... it would be greatly appreciated if you Mr Wyeth could contribute to this thread since you have already resided in that area.
