I saw the SS-runes only on police tunics before. Not on SS tunics. But then, I'm still not 'the' expert in the field.
K.
This tunic was available on a well known Collector's Site, but has since been traded. I was interested in it's purchase and believed it to be original.
Are there any obvious flags that I missed?
Thanks, Grant.
I think it was sold by Ulrich of England, if memory serves, but I am not sure. In any case, this single image is hardly the basis for any in depth inquiry.

I agree with all of the above as there is a distict lack of detail in the picture provided and I also think that the addition of the runes below the pocket is a bit of a contradiction (to me) as the Standartenfuhrer tabs on the tunic denote SS membership/ rank in themselves so it does not make sense for them to be added?
Then again, given the rank of the wearer, I guess he could have chosen to add them as a personal preference as there would not be many above him who would likely to pull him up........
The police insignia up or down, the evidence before us is really too paltry to make any assessment and is hardly the way to collect expensive and rare SS regalia.
The key is to post adequate evidence appropriate to the query, otherwise such is an exercise in empty opinions.
FB is right. This tunic was listed at Ulrich with provenance referenced. I remember it well.
