Thank you F-B. Im not sure Ive seen H. H. in this combination of kepi and black rock.
It appears that HH is wearing a standard kepi without any officer crown piping.
BOB
LIFE'S LOSERS NEVER LEARN FROM THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS.
I have attempted to crop in on HH and sharpen slightly for detail.
Bob, I think his cap actually has piping, but do not quote me. Look at Hess, too, his cap has piping.
Who knows? I just thought the black tunic and the kepi were interesting.
I always think, I guess wrongly, that the peaked cap and the jacket came together in 1932.
I re read Wim last night and, I guess, the jacket came in the summer of 1932 and the peaked cap in the fall of 1932.
In any case, an interesting image and thanks to our nice members for their learned and pleasant inquiry.

Here a Himmler-photo from volume 4 of the headgear-series.
The shown photo is with black kepi and tunic. Since 1933 Heinrich
will have worn the visored cap.
The earlier shown photo with Hitler in the car must be from 1932.
Himmler was not allowed to be in the car with Hitler. He marched
in front of the SS, but when passed Hitler, he had to go aside and
be at a specific position. There were regulations for how to behave.
These were extended taken together in 1938 in the:
SS-DV. Nr. 6: Reichsparteitag Teil I und Teil II. The both had 300
pages together. Interesting is that it included the Reichsparteitag-
positions for the SS from 1945 up through 1950:
