    I've got a strange leather liner with SS OBERFUHRER WILHELM BOCK burned into the leather. It doesn't look like any liners I would associate with German WW2 helmets, let alone the SS.

    I would say West German helmet liner. ( Note the single top mounting and perforated brow )
    I think someone has got creative with a hot wire leather working stylus and a skill in calligraphy ......
