LAH Cypher

Hi all,

Pretty sure this is good in the sea of fakes out there although difficult to reference due to lack of decent material on these.

Good detail on cypher and impressioning on board. Believe to be Copper aluminium construction with remains of silver finish attributable to NCO cyphers.

Edging to rear consistent all round and dimensions are good with dye striking marks and no tooling or ruff edging consistent with casts

What do you guys think?

The LAH cypher stands a chance of being original, but the rank pip is definately post-war. This casts doubt on the era when the insignia was applied to the shoulder board.

Hi Bob,

Whats the issue with the rank pip? Apart from looking minty fresh I wouldn't notice any problems with it but rank pips aren't my thing. I only have 2 relic examples in my collection.

Hi Glenn, it is the round brass wire prongs which are the giveaway on the rank pip.

Thanks all for time and comments so far.
Primary concern was the cypher, think the board is ok
And there is a minimal amount of cypher to board staining from what I
Can make out under closer inspection.
The prongs on the pip are flat rather than rounded .
Also not sure if it Should be but the pip is RZM marked and maker
Stamped M1/16 .

Can get closer pictures if it helps?

Will Try and get some close ones and upload them.
Were all pips stamped out of interest?
Did you have any thoughts on the LAH cypher or board

Hi Matt, I don't really feel qualified to pass judgment on the cypher. And I have almost given up on boards without having them in hand as they have gotten so good....
