That's probably the nicest Fez I've seen, great condition, nice work!
The leather band looks to be in superb condition. I would wonder if this Fez were ever issued? It looks Mint! Nice piece-I've always liked these exotic Fez!

The vast majority of Handschar fezes found today came out of the storage room as Dachau. Over the years, I have bought a number of these from 45th Division vets who filled up the fez with cufftitles, collar insignia and other misc. insignia. I have only ever encountered one red model that had been worn. It had an Islamic stamp on the backside of the sweatband.
