    Hello!
First of all, can I say what a fantastic forum this is!- Extremely interesting and informative. I've been browsing however, and can't find an answer to my question...

I'm posting this to ask of some help. My grandfather has asked me to try and find out some information for him, and due to the obvious knowledge here, it'd be great if you'd be able to help-
My grandfather's an avid collector of WW2 memorabilia and somewhere along the line, he picked up this particular SS badge- that being said, he's failed to find any information of this badge in catalogues and guides.

I also can't seem to find any information on the internet, leading me to believe it's a fake - However, I wouldn't want to make an assumption without confirmation.

    here it is -

If you'd be able be able to help me and my grandfather, i'd much appreciate it -
A man on the internet's selling a similar badge for a rather high price....

Yet all he can say is that it's "very rare" and "original" - I'm thinking otherwise..

GUARANTEED ORIGINAL WW2 SS SKULL AND DAGGER BADGE For Sale

Any help on this is much appreciated.

    Chris

Ive never seen one before but looking at the construction and the rear attachment, i would say its a fantasy item, the rear pin is something that usually supported British badges, plus the eagles head looks like an ostriches neck!, having said all that , i bet someone will buy the damn thing and lose all their money or someone here will prove me wrong

I agree with the above responses. It is a fantasy item !
Perhaps it might be called a 'biker badge'.
    Regards,

    Steve.

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum!

These have been on the market since the 1970's and are a Briitsh made fantasy badge. Back them they used to sell for a couple of Pounds. Note the split pin fastener as used on British cap badges.

    Cheers, Ade.
