There are some noteworthy pieces there, and perhaps some that require very close scrutiny. I am no friend of an SS cap that purports to be bought from the Kleiderkasse des Heeres, to be sure. This being said, SS Pz berets do not fall out of the trees each day. One should also note that this piece of headwear was also worn in rear area garrison duty far longer than the date 1941.

I echo F-B's comments about the W-SS Generals visor. The SS and Heeres Kleiderkasse were separate entities. EVERY SS visor that has been marked "Offizier Kleiderkasse" has been a Frankenstein, and all seem to originate in the Chicago area. This one does nothing to alter my impression.

Thanks. The well known hat illustrated work also perpetuates the idea that SS caps were marked with the Heereskleiderkasse imprint, but such a thing is ludicrous.

The SS Kleiderkasse was an SS institution (one of several Kassen, in fact, designed to alleviate the costs of service and to act as a social welfare organization....the dreaded "socialism" much reviled in the US at the moment....) with obligatory membership for officers and possibly others in the SS. It was as much a means of financial burden sharing as well as an outlet for clothing and equipment. It was patterned after like institutions of the armed services, just as the RZM and its SA antecedent grew out of the geheime Zeugmeisterei of the provisional Reichswehr.

One should also note that it was the bargain way, i.e. discount way to acquire clothing and equipment via the administration of the clothing allowance for Selbsteinkleider, i.e. officers and what not, who had to furnish their own clothing.

Debt was eschewed in the Nazi system as a non-Aryan institution, an abomination, and what not.

I have yet to see an SS cap with a similar mark as that of the Kleiderkasse des Heeres or the Verkaufsabteilung d. Lw. pp.

Also, I guess that the Hoheitszeichen on the black beret above is subject to doubt, too, based on my own quick posing of the question to an authority of great reputation. Whoops.

I shall leave to others the burning of witches in this and other matters.

The other caps have now excited the normal whirl wind of scorn and disdain.

The beret eagle certainly is not one I have seen before.

Attached image is what I am used to seeing.

The arrached image is of two removed beret eagles which display minor variance within the chest details. I have bee scouring my references for a photo of the type on the offered beret. If such a photo could be found, it would be a boon for the beret in question.
