"Not for me. But let other weigh in." An example of idiocy When real material flummoxes the collector

Article about: Our Robert H has a nice ca. 1934 or 5 black enlisted cap for sale which elicited this idiotic statement above on the other site. This cap is completely authentic. I know where it came from,

Please don't take offense to my ignorance of Advance Dealers but Who is Robert H? Could I possibly get a link to his site?

Thank you Bob. There were a couple other members that were also wondering about Robert H. So I'm sure they are also grateful for your reply.

I found his site via Google. I must have registered on there some time ago and forgotten as I was already registered. Unfortunately, the cap is not listed. I was curious to see what the price tag was (a lot, I'm sure )

At that price it wont stay long...And thats another point, someones tries to cast doubt on a beautiful piece of history, that the owner is selling for a more than reasonable price...Then you have some dealers out there who would sell this hat for double that (I wont mention names) ..If anyone wants to start on their so called "high end" SS collecting this would be your chance to break into, at a certified piece and reasonable price

and I can vouch for the thing's provenance. And it also has the man's name in it with the unit designation.

    Happy hats to you all.

I did not think my intemperate outburst would solicit such a response.

    FB,

Your "outburst" (which I think prefer to think of as a strong defense of a friend and visor) are more than welcome for all the knowledge that you so kindly dispense to all of us here!!

While I haven't dipped my toe into this area yet (I want to learn and study more as often recommended by our fine colleagues here), like Todd, I too had the "wheels turning" in my head. But atlas, it does not seem to be listed anymore....

    Regards,

    Michael

ID:	793804Thank you. I am very intemperate and try to resist my weakness.

I have learned a very great deal from others here and celebrate the chance to do so. This form of social interaction is hardly natural to me as a person of the mid 20th century, but I
    do my best to adapt.

Happy hats and foetid wool to all who might read this.
