"Not for me. But let other weigh in." An example of idiocy When real material flummoxes the collector

Article about: Our Robert H has a nice ca. 1934 or 5 black enlisted cap for sale which elicited this idiotic statement above on the other site. This cap is completely authentic. I know where it came from,

    Thumbs up

Black is not my favorite color - I admit that - but to ignorantly slag off an item to whom this shade is close to their hearts is foolish indeed and I concur with the comments preceding.

And doesn't FB's posts bring out the wordsmith in us all !!

There will always, it seems, be Band Wagon posters riding the coat tails of others trying to identify and authenticate valuable collector's items for less knowledgeable collectors. This can be costly and dangerous to those who are posting items in question when overly enthusiastic posters jump in because one of the "non-expert experts" chimes in and gives the apparent okey when they shouldn't and starts the flood. Personally, I don't know the solution for this problem. All of us knows of at least one such of these people. There is one that comes to mind that is relentlessly doing this and has been spoken to on a number of occasions by the Mods but to no avail. Hopefully, most here know who does and who does not know what they are talking about, but it is when a newer member who does Not know everyone reads a false-approval that trouble aplenty can occur. This a bad situation and very much needs a solution.

Sadly there are those who feign knowledge and expertise and like to pass it on in the digital realm for the unknowing amongst us to lap up. This type has never handled not to mention the prerequisite of owning and studying in detail dozens if not hundreds of the real article.

Let me second that as well. Your attitude and conduct set an example.

I salute all sound and civic minded persons here who make this site a beam of light in the digital murk.

Pfui on all digital cowards and pretenders, who feign expertise, but whose goal is to spoil our common endeavor.

If they were in my seminar, their mischief would come to a quick and painful end with a bright flash.

FB, many thanks posting this matter.

And then on the other hand such a person doesn't have the guts to excuse his self.
All this tells all and enough about a person.
