ID:	673729As a word of advice, you should endeavor to see real SS embroidery in leading collections in person.

The electric pictures only go so far, and even if you make them into a science project, they also only go so far.

and that is not far enough.

I have lived with these things every day for forty five and more years, which enables me, at least, to make a coup d'oeil and see things I cannot describe,
and which do not emerge in any digital image.

Indeed, I am always struck by how digital images change these items in very profound ways that a specialist could
    interpret, but I cannot.

These fora assign primacy of place to such digital images, and the majority of persons has never seen a single piece of
authentic insignia, let alone owned such a thing.

My point: the naked eye as well a sense of touch and the real object comprise the rosetta stone, and not much of the past time that unfolds in these
    spaces.
    damit, basta.

Do let me say that such an opinion from this person is pretty definitive.

And many other statements in these spaces are less than worthless.
Thank you for the first part. As for the second, I think it belongs to a context unknown to me...

The simple fact is this: many people have no idea what they are talking about, a point that hardly needs explanation.

Bob Coleman has often made the point that some of the most outspoken internet savants actually have no collection, to say nothing
    of less than no knowledge.

However, certain persons ( a very small circle of which two have written here) who are informed and who have precious knowledge, gotten at huge expense in time and treasure, have commented, and their comments are definitive.

I have worked very hard in these spaces for more than a decade, and while the generalization I make may offend someone, it remains

    a completely factual statement.

Knowledge is a precious thing, and it is a fragile thing, and there is no short cut, no technical whiz bang that somehow nullifies or otherwise eradicates the challenges, contradictions and problems inherent
    in especially this knowledge.

One reason for this fact derives from how alienated more persons are from work that requires dexterity with hands, or the extent that the former world was made by hand.

I understand and agree. However, these are opportunities that don't reveal themselves so often and that leaves technical whiz bang and books as predominant in gaining knowledge.

Getting to know the reputable members of the community and their niches of expertise is a skill in itself that is worth mastering. Until then, since you've been kind enough to share your knowledge every time I was asking for help, I will attribute the most credibility to you.

Also, thank you all for sharing your opinions.

In all fields of collecting, there are many false prophets whorequire to have their egos fed even though their knowledge is questionable. Your statement "Getting to know the reputable members of the community and their niches of expertise is a skill in itself that is worth masteringour statement, " is very insightful.

Dear Sir, thanks so much, indeed. My tirade does not have the purpose to garner praise at all. There are much more informed people than I, to be sure.
The problem is, however, that many informed people refrain from the rolling the rock up the hill only to have it roll down again.
One of the reasons for this fact derives from how many discount the struggle to know things, and who deride those who do.
Such has been my principal disappointment with this medium, really.
Mr. Arran has owned a remarkable and subtle SS collection, which I have the privilege of securing some pieces.
Mr. Bob Coleman was putting his collection to use for the good of people in the year 1 9 6 8, when the internet was just a glean in the
eye of those at the Stanford Research Institute or the Bell Labs or behind the moon.
Hence, I salute them and others who have associated themselves with this effort.
Others tell me that those who cannot fulfill the requirements of membership here are setting up their rebel settlements and insurgencies
in the nooks and crannies, and celebrating the lords of the flies to their hearts' content.
    Bully.

In the meantime, this enclosure will help you to understand the rigors we face and the portion of patience needed for work here..."

"....You must think you are the big cheese on this forum. You and your 64 dollar words don't mean a damn thing to collectors who find you a boring blowhard! ....I thought you were a man of dignity and manners and you certainly are not! Don't bother sending me any P.M. as I would never read anything you send and will never any of your posts..."
    damit, basta.
