    Default Officers SS Tunic?

Hello, My first thread, so thank you for a fantastic site.
I'd like to pick your brains on this item please. I recently brought this from an antique shop in Jersey, C.I. Now I know we didn't have any SS stationed in Jersey to my Knowledge, but does anyone know if it is genuine (It looks fine but I've never seen one before) and any other information about it please.

I paid 180 for it, what do you think it's worth or have I been robbed!?

I don't think this has even been in the same room with any authentic SS item. For that kind of money you could have purchased a first-class repro.

Oh Dear! Thanks for your thoughts. Please tell me what it is or isn't then!

Well, it definitely isn't an SS piece, and it strikes me as post-war, although that's just my intuition. The experts here should be able to give a more precise answer.

Well you say that but I recently saw a programme on the History Channel and I saw a High Ranking Officer wearing te exact same type of Tunic. Also I went onto the Klepper Rosenheime website and in their museum page they have the exact same Tunic. Do you think some one has got a rubber stamp and SS'd it?

I think what you saw was an SS trench coat, they did look somewhat like this thing.

This looks very much like a 1950s motorcycle cape.

Yes, they show the exact cape on the Klepper website:

Klepper made rain coats for the SS, of which this piece is not one.
One is illustrated in the Beaver books from the collection of a noted US collector.
    damit, basta.
