I have contacted the seller and he is of the opinion that the overlocking stitch was used and he is going to seek further clarification.
I have had a look at a dealer site in Europe (FJM44) who has a similar Ravensbruck produced jacket which appears to have the overlocking stitch.
Your thoughts ??

Well he would say that wouldn't he, he's trying to sell the thing. Other dealers often are selling fakes and don't know it. The overlock stitch was not used in the wartime produced Erbsentarn tunics. Single stitches and in places double parallel stitching yes, overlocked no.
Have a look for yourself at a real one at the dealer site "Virtual grenadier" (use their search option for "Erbsentarn tunic"). They have several authentic Erbsentarn tunics, panzer wraps and trousers. Just looking at these real ones you will see the differences to the one you have been offered.
