    It is a reproduction in my opinion. The shape and detail are off from period original examples. The formation of the swastika is poor. The backing is also something I have not seen on period birds. It is not a very good fake.

    Thanks a lot BOB for the quick reply. I haven't bought it yet, so I'm glad I now know it's a reproduction. Saves me some money.

    Yes I think it is not original as well. The swastika is bad as Bob said and looks like a vulture's head to me.

    Also note the embroidery on the inner wings / armpits = on the original these are actually devided into small sections , each seperately handembroidered .
    On the fake , this part is just a big mess of wire , with a pattern of black thread on top to give the illusion of sections .
    Same goes for the outer / stretched wings = no divided sections on the fake .

    Unfortunately , there are much better reproductions than this one .
