Thanks guys, much good info about the head of the SS. Thank you HPL2008 for the correction, I think I must have seen Himmler's Deutsche Sports badge and mixed it up with the Reitersabzeichen, don't ask me how! To keep this full of lovely images and on topic, here's my very salty, SS lid with a barely visible decal.
I saw on our news recently that it was non-chalantly stated that English Archives have been released showing that Himmler was killed in custody rather than allow his trial and disclosure of negotiations with the English and their specific interests. It was also stated that between capture and time of death, Himmler had suffered a broken nose. Has anyone else heard of this??
What a great thread, and alot of great examples!! here is my "one and only" Regards Larry
That is beautiful and in superb condition, Siegfried.
Is that a standard/issued hanger - not seen that type before?
Wonderful dagger Larry!

I for one, hope that you evade his eye for a long, long time.

Thanks for info. Very intesting and innovative hanger too.
The hanger suits the dagger very well IMO and its just a bonus, that it can be carried at several angles.
